Lillie Healey
B. Physiotherapy
Lillie has a love for educating, problem solving and exercising!
During high school Lillie participated in state level athletics (achieving 3rd in the 1500m), basketball and cross country. Lillie was a dedicated student with a passion for maths and science which led her into tutoring. Lillie found she enjoyed helping people solve complex problems.
Finishing high school Lillie set out on a different career path, moving to Wollongong to study medicinal physics. Lillie quickly realised that this career wouldn't allow her to actively participate in her patient's recovery. Therefore, after one year, she applied for physiotherapy at CSU Orange (from which she graduated top of her year).
Physiotherapy allowed Lillie to explore all of her interests. She was delighted to learn that physiotherapy requires lots of problem solving: from analysing biomechanics to identifying the source of people's pain. During her placements at Bathurst Hospital, Lillie enjoyed exploring the best ways to help people exercise.
Overall, the aspect of physiotherapy that Lillie enjoys the most is the emphasis placed on educating patients to become empowered to take care of their own health.
Lillie was pleased to receive a job at Bathurst Physiotherapy as it is the perfect place to explore all areas of physiotherapy, from neurological conditions to sporting injuries.
