Amelia Dunlop
B. Physiotherapy
Amelia is a people person! She loves engaging with people and learning their stories. She also loves a problem, and derives great satisfaction from working through a problem logically to achieve a result. Amelia first experienced physiotherapy as a year 10 work experience student and soon realised that social interaction and problem solving were central to the physiotherapy profession.
During her studies at the University of Newcastle, Amelia gained experience in managing and rehabilitating acute sporting injuries as well as strength and conditioning at local and regional sporting levels. After gaining her Strength and Conditioning accreditation, Amelia spent 12 months as the head S&C coach for the University of Newcastle’s women’s Rugby 7’s team, supporting them throughout their season to a national competition.
Amelia enjoys the complex nature of acute and chronic lower limb injuries. She believes every injury is unique, and enjoys working with her clients to find a solution to their problem allowing them to return to their previous activity levels. Amelia is also interested in further developing her approach to treating jaw pain.
Growing up in Northwest NSW, Amelia was keen to return to a regional area post-graduation for the environment and close-knit community that the country offers. Amelia spends most of her time outside of work playing footy, tennis, getting in the water for a surf or swim or tackling the mount by foot. As such, she is passionate about supporting people of all ages to live an active lifestyle and helping them continue to live a life they enjoy.
